What is Pipe Bursting?
Pipe bursting is a relatively new method of replacing buried water or sewer pipelines without the need to excavate the site and dig a large traditional trench.
A metal head is threaded through two access points to bust up the existing pipe. It bursts the pipe and forces the pieces into the nearby dirt and soil, making way for the brand-new pipe.
Pipe bursting can also be utilized to increase the capacity of a pipeline by replacing your smaller pipes with larger ones, or "upsizing" them for increased capacity and flow. The gas and water industries have determined the viability and value of upsizing gas mains, water mains and sewers.
